Furniture Care Instructions for your Clients

If you sell your refinished furniture, do you get really nervous when they come to pick it up (or ship it)? I do! 🙋‍♀️

So many questions run through my head when it is time for pickup:

  • Will they like it in person?

  • Did I miss a spot?

  • Will it get damaged transporting it to their home?

To ease my mind, I started to include a furniture care package in each sale. Below is what I include in this package.

Furniture care packet contents:

Furniture care cards

I have a FREE card available to you here. It is ready to print on postcard size paper, with sections that you can customize when you fill it out for your customer.

On the card are how to clean, when it was painted (and when it will be cured), what the paint color is, and so much more! It is so important for the customer to understand that the product might not be cured, which just means the paint is not fully hardened yet. This can mean that damage to the paint could happen easier than once it’s cured and it’s important to be extra careful with it until then!

Touch-up Paint

I always provide a small amount of extra paint to the customer. I buy these plastic containers to put the paint in.

This helps ease my nerves that if the furniture does get damaged in transportation, the customer can easily touch it up with this paint.

I also use this for any touch-ups I see before it goes home with the customer.
